Google just released a new app named YouTube
Capture app for Apple IOS. iPhone or iPod Touch users can use it to share their
recorded videos to YouTube with a few taps. (Long-time iTunes users may enjoy
reading this guide of stripping off DRM restriction on iTunes video & audiodownloads). Here’s how it works.
Provided you have already install the YouTube
Capture app on your IOS device. Just launch this app, then it asks you to log
in your YouTube (or Google) account to use it. After signing in, you will come
to the recording screen. On the left of the screen, there is a button that you
can use to switch between the front-facing and the rear cameras. The buttons on
the right allows you access your device's Camera roll, start capturing, and
settings.
Next, tap the settings option. There are three
sharing options to connect it with your Google+, Facebook and Twitter. You can
choose one or several social service according to your needs. And you can
adjust two recording settings that include “Landscape lock” and “Rotate to
begin recording”. When enable the “Landscape lock”, you can not record video
when your phone is in portrait mode. The “Rotate to begin recording” let you
begin recording as soon as you rotate your phone into landscape mode. The
latest setting allows you upload your video in 480p or 720p.
When you begin capturing by tapping the circular,
red record button, there will be a timer that displays a running time of your
capturing. After recording, you will be taken to the upload screen. Here,
Google provides you with the option to make your video public or private, add
title and location information, share on the social networks of your choice,
and enhance the captured video with basic video editing tools that let you to apply
automatic color-correction, stabilization to your film, trim the length of your
video with a handy drag-and-drop interface, set the privacy level of your
videos, and more. Also, you can set a "soundtrack" such as
Electronic, Pop, or Wedding to your video. Lastly, just simply tap the blue
Share button to upload the video to YouTube.
The Camera Roll is used to save the videos you
record using YouTube Capture app. You can view the video using the app by
tapping on a video thumbnail from your video list, and tapping on the area to
the right of the thumbnail takes you to the app’s upload screen. By the way, in
Camera Roll the videos that on a gray background are not uploaded to YouTube
while the videos on a white background have already been uploaded to YouTube.
For the uploaded videos, you can play them by tapping a thumbnail or tweak
their settings or delete them from YouTube by tapping their titles to the right
of the thumbnail.
